New Baby Alert: Bo Bice Welcomes Baby Boy Named Ean Jacob
American Idol runner-up Bo Bice and wife Caroline welcomed a baby boy on Friday, January 22. The new baby's name is Ean Jacob. Baby Ean joins older brothers Aidan Michael, 4, and Caleb James, 17 months.
The baby name Ean is the Manx variant on the name Ian, which itself is the Scottish form of the name John. The name Ean is a bit of a departure for the Bice family, in that they have chosen the traditional spellings for their other son's names. That said, the name Ian has followed a very similar popularity trend to the names Aidan and Caleb. All these names are riding high in the popularity charts in the U.S. today (see Name Voyager for more details), all are two syllables and vowel-heavy.
How do you like the name of this latest addition to the Bice family? Do you think Ean is a good match for Caleb and Aidan?

Ean just looks off to me. I think Ian looks much better.

I like it -- I think it fits well with Aidan & Caleb.
I agree with Anne V. -- Aidan, Caleb and Ean all seem to fit together. There's this hip formality, chic traditionalism to them. If they have a girl next I wouldn't be surprised by a Hannah.
I think that Ian would sound much better although even then I think that Ian doesn't fit that well with Caleb and Aidan as they are both more modern and popular at the moment.
