Fantasia Barrino's Scrabble-Winning Baby Names
Do we have a Scrabble winner? Fantasia Barrino, the 27-year-old pop star who got her start on Season 3 of American Idol and whose personal life has been a roller coaster of highs and lows, enjoyed a new high this week as she welcomed a son. Fantasia's baby boy, named Dallas Xaviar, joins 10-year-old sister Zion Quari.
Dallas is a unisex place name that recalls the American southwest and has shifted from the boys' column to the girls' column and solidly back to the boys' column. It currently ranks 318 for boys and has fallen out of the top-1000 for girls (it peaked at #699 in the 1990s). Zion, likewise, is a southwestern place name (and a biblical one as well), that has seen rising popularity among boys and girls. Zion is currently ranked at #690 for girls and #230 for boys.
We think that together, Dallas Xaviar and Zion Quari make an adorable sibling set. But they are also among the highest Scrabble-value sibling pair in recent memory. With their X (8 points), Q (10 points) and Z (10 points) letter combos, the names have a whopping 51-point Scrabble value.
Can you think of other sibling sets that score higher?
