New Baby Alert: It’s a Lucky Boy for Hugh Grant and Tinglan Hong
The Hong-Grant family made a secret addition in December. Hugh Grant and girlfriend Tinglan Hong welcomed a son late last year but swore everyone, including their daughter’s godmother Elizabeth Hurley, to secrecy before finally sharing their news via a droll Twitter statement. According to the Daily Mail the little boy’s name is Felix Chang Hong Grant and he was born on December 29th.
Just like older sister Tabitha, born in 2011, baby Felix was given a vintage English name by Hugh as well as a Chinese name from mom Tinglan. Tabitha’s middle name Xaio Xi is said to mean “Happy Surprise” in Chinese while Chang means “Long Lasting.” As for his first name, Felix, is another old-fashioned sounding pick, but it’s not nearly as rare as his elder sister’s name. Last year Felix ranked at #311 in the States and #131 in Great Britain (versus Tabitha’s #643 stateside and #171 in England and Wales).
Felix is a name with Latin roots, it means “lucky” and may have a special meaning to our English cousins—because of a St. Felix who introduced Christianity to East Anglia. With its trendy -x ending Felix fits right in with other x-names like Xander, Maxfield, and of course Pax, Maddox, and Knox.
