Massimo Baldwin? Hilaria Discusses Her and Alec's Baby Name Choices
Fame/Flynet

The newly minted Mrs. Baldwin, as of her June marriage to actor Alec Baldwin, went on Rachel Ray this past Friday to and talked about, among other things, her and Alec's name choices for their upcoming baby. The couple announced the pregnancy just last month and luckily for us, have already revealed some of their naming discussions.

Hilaria told Ray, "Well, we have a different idea almost every single day, which I think is natural…I mean we're still pretty early on. He had the idea for Massimo the other day, and it's a lovely name. I just don't…that's a very big name for a very little baby, so…"

Ray adds, "My brother was Emmanuel Enino Scuderi Ray and it was hell for him in Kindergarten. He couldn't even fit his name on, like, the sheet of paper. Massimo is kind of a big name."

Although it is still early for the couple, we think Massimo Baldwin has a great ring to it. In the end, Hilaria explains: "I think you actually have to look at it. And once it pops out you say, 'What? Who are you? What is your name?'"

She also added that although the couple won't know the sex of the baby for another few weeks, she thinks it will be a boy, so perhaps Massimo will still be on the table after all.

This will be the second child for Baldwin, his first, Ireland Eliesse, with ex-wife Kim Basinger was born in 1995.

Hilaria has an interesting name herself, though not unusual, it has also never been particularly popular in the U.S., unlike the similar Hilary. Hilaria is derived from Latin, meaning cheerful or merry.

It will be interesting to see what the couple finally decides on later this year, but in the meantime:

What do you think of Massimo? Can a name be too big? And do you think you have to see a new baby before deciding on a name?

It is really overwhelming if an artists that you like the most will get married or have someone to be with. It makes you feel who would be this lucky guy or lady and what makes them good for your favorite artist. - Scott Sohr
