Actor David Krumholtz and his actress wife Vanessa Britting announced the birth of their first child, a daughter, on Saturday, April 5. The next day, the Men at Work star shared an adorable pic of his swaddled sweetie, captioning it "Pemma Mae Krumholtz. The girl of my dreams."

We're instantly curious about this very rare name with a nice familiar ring to it. With Emma still holding strong at #1 in baby names in about six countries, and Mae serving as a beautiful and popular middle name, "Pemma Mae" strikes us as a clever variation on the theme. The name Pemma alone doesn't show up in any of our name resources, however.

Pema, without the extra M, is actually a common Tibetan name that means "lotus," The most famous woman with that name today is Pema Chodron, the first American woman to become a Tibetan Buddhist nun. The second most famous, in some circles, is a character in the cult fave cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender. In our brief research this week, we can find no evidence of Krumholtz or Britting having Buddhist leanings or being huge Avatar geeks, so we're going to have to guess that they just like the sound of it.

There certainly aren't many names that would sound good with an added or replaced first letter. (We're suddenly singing that "Name Game" banana song in our heads!) Can you come up with a good one?

I find it a bit eerie that it is so close to the name of Ian Zierings daughter - Penna Mae. Especially considering Penna Mae was also born in April (2013).
