Over the weekend, sources confirmed that Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed their twins last week, but everyone was a bit short on the details. Thankfully, every day, we're learning a bit more about the power couple's already-famous LOs, and Us reports that the twins are a boy and a girl! The mag also states that Bey gave birth on Monday, June 12.

The gender news backs up previous speculation surrounding photos of a woman carrying pink and blue balloons into the hospital where Bey gave birth.

As fun as it is to learn even more about the littlest Carter kids, not everyone is thrilled that we're initially hearing about the babies' birth details via unnamed sources ... or even through other family members.

Yesterday, on Father's Day, Sunday, June 18, Bey's dad, Mathew Knowles, took to Instagram to wish his new grandbabies a happy birthday, effectively becoming the first in Bey and Jay's family to confirm the twins' arrival.

"They're here! #beyonce #jayz #twins #birthday#happybirthday," Knowles wrote.

Members of the BeyHive were aggravated by the proud grandpa's post, believing that it was 100 percent Bey's news to share. "I really hope you had Beyonce's permission to announce this because otherwise you are so far out of line," an Instagram commenter wrote. "It's Beyonce's news and if she felt ready to announce the birth she would have done it by now."

Perhaps they have a point, but there are worse things than a proud grandfather not being able to contain his joy -- especially on Father's Day!

Surely, we'll hear from Bey and Jay soon. In the meantime, we can have fun mulling over the sure-to-be-rockin' boy and girl names the Carters could end up going with for their new son and daughter!
