Heroes' Star Ali Larter Welcomes Baby Theodore Hayes

Another Christmas baby! Heroes leading lady Ali Larter and her husband, Perfect Couples' star Hayes MacArthur, are now officially parents. Son Theodore Hayes MacArthur was born Monday morning.

Larter and MacArthur met on the set of the movie Homo Erectus about a caveman tribe. They played a couple named Fardart (Larter) and Thudnik (MacArthur). Though their romance began with a prehistoric twist, they were inspired by much more recent history when naming their baby boy.

According to Wikipedia, Hayes MacArthur was named for the legendary actress Helen Hayes, who was nicknamed "the first lady of American theater" and is one of the elite few to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony Award. Helen Hayes was married to playwright Charles MacArthur, but it's unclear if Hayes MacArthur is related to either of them.

The name Hayes, though, also brings to mind Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th U.S. president. Which brings us to Theodore, as in the 26th President Theodore Roosevelt, perhaps?

Names with an air of prestige run in both MacArthur and Larter's families; Larter's father's first name is Danforth. Danforth, Hayes and Theodore are all serious names that suggest both history and sophistication.

What's more, the name Theodore comes from the Greek for "God's gift." Talk about a name with weight! In arts, politics and religion, baby Theo has a lot of name to live up to.

Actresses Natascha McElhone and Bryce Dallas Howard also have sons named Theodore, and Kevin Costner has a baby boy named Hayes Logan, who was born in 2009. What do you think of these names?
