Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban: Sunday's Surprise Sister is Named Faith
Surprise! We have a secret baby at home. (Juan Rico/Fame Pictures)

Okay, so you thought the news was the cream one-shoulder gown Nicole Kidman wore to the Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress for her work in Rabbit Hole? Nope: the real surprise was back home. Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban have welcomed their second daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban.

Baby Faith, who is the biological daughter of Kidman and Urban, was born December 28th via surrogate, TMZ reports. She's a sister to Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.

This completely upstages Owen Wilson, who gave us a five day lead time between announcing the pregnancy and announcing the birth. Seriously: what with the 'Hollywood Baby Boom' (translation: everone is pregnant) and the we-didn't-tell-you-we-were-prenant shockers (Sir Elton? We're looking at you), this is a giddy time to have the celebrity baby name beat.

Faith is a return to form for Kidman, whose children with Tom Cruise bear popular names (Isabella Jane and Connor Antony). Sunday is sweetly quirky, but Faith is a blockbuster. The name peaked at #52 in the US in 2003, and in 2009 was #80. Faith is also a top-100 name in Canada, England and Scotland.

We adore Margaret.

What do you think of Faith Margaret? Do you like it as a sister name to Sunday Rose? And are you as shocked as we were?

I was just telling my husband YESTERDAY that I was thinking of the name Faith for the little one we're expecting soon. And today -- this! I like the name (obviously) but I think Sunday and Faith are quite the religious-sounding sibling set. I think it's nice that it's so close to Keith, kind of like naming her after him a little bit. But I'm not sure I'll use it now... my husband's first reaction was "Faith Hill?" anyway, so it might remain a celebrity name.

Ummm... yeah... Are they still living in Tennessee? It may be a bit farther down the list in other parts of the English speaking world, but I'm fairly confident the name Faith (or, I know two who spell it Faythe) is WAY up there in popularity here in the Nashville area. Grace and Hannah, are also practically as ubiquitous as Maria is in Mexico.

Is there a place you can check for regional popularity of names? Growing up in the military, my family moved every two years. I was often one of two or three of my name in the East and Southeast, but always the only one in California. In my entire high school in Idaho there was only one other girl named Pamela.

Pamela, you can go on the Social Security Administration website for their lists of baby names & can break it down by state.

Baby Name Wizard also has the Name Mapper which breaks down name popularity by state.
