A.J. McLean Welcomes Daughter Ava Jaymes

Those Backstreet Boys are a trendy bunch. The lastest band member to welcome a new baby, A.J. McLean, has continued the tradition of choosing a popular, on-the-rise name. He and wife Rochelle Deanna Karidis welcomed a daughter earlier this week and named their new baby girl Ava Jaymes McLean

Ava is a perennial favorite among celebrities. In our celebrity baby name database, we have 18 celebrity babies with the first name Ava. Most recently, Andrea Roth, Lleyton Hewitt and Eli Manning have all had daughters named Ava.

Ava is popular among celebrities for a reason, simply because it is just a very trendy name. Especially over the past decade, Ava has been on the rise and currently ranks at No. 5 in the U.S. It is also popular in a handful of other countires, including Canada, Australia and the U.K.

Jaymes is an interesting choice for the middle name and might have something to do with the fact that A.J.'s full name is Alexander James. Jaymes is still typically a male name, but baby Ava will have something in common with another celebrity besides her father. Kristen Stewart also has the middle name Jaymes.

Three other Backstreet Boys members also have children with popular names. Kevin Richardson has a son named Mason Frey, Brian Littrell has a son named Baylee Thomas Wylee and Howie Dorough has a son, James, and recently announced that he and his wife are expecting a second.

What do you think about Ava Jaymes? Might Jaymes become a popular first name for girls?
