Jensen and Danneel Ackles Welcome Daughter Justice Jay

Jensen and Danneel Ackles Welcome Daughter Justice Jay
Fame/Flynet

Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles and wife Danneel Ackles welcomed a little girl last month. They named her Justice Jay Ackles and plan to call her JJ.

Justice has been an increasinly popular name for both boys and girls over the past decade. It is now ranked No. 518 for girls and 519 for boys, making it a truly androgynous name. It also belong to the group of virtue names, which includes Hope and Faith.

Justice Jay is an interesting choice, and seems as though it could easily belong to a boy or a girl. The nickname JJ also has a unisex feel to it. Since her middle name is also a common first name, Justice Jay sounds a bit like Justice is the title to a person named Jay.

Despite the unique sound of the name, Justice is far more common than either of her parent's names. Jensen has only recently become popular as a boys name. And Danneel Ackles was born Elta Danneel Graul. She was named Elta after a great grandmother and Danneel was inspired by Danneel Street in New Orleans.

What do you think of the name Justice Jay? What about the name Danneel?

Another androgynous/boy's name. Gotta say I'm tired of this trend.

Geez. Justice Jay Ackles. While the name serves the parents it may very well not serve this little girl who will grow up to be a woman. I really believed that Jensen and Danneel were more mature than to name their baby Justice who shall henceforth be known as JJ.

I think the name is great! I think it gives a sense of strength and of being able to do what she wants to do and of being who she wants to be.

As the article points out, Justice is actually more common than either of the parents' names, so it's not as uncommom as some would have people believe. Also, it's been increasing in popularity the past few years. So, it's possible Baby Ackles may have other Justices in her class.

As for androgynous names, it's not a "trend," because it's been going on for decades, both for girls and boys, for example, the names "Morgan," "Leslie," "Lee," "Tracy" "Stacy", etc.

When I initially commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
Appreciate it!

I'm impressed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that's
both equally educative and engaging, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the
head. The issue is something that too few people are speaking intelligently about.
I'm very happy I found this during my search for something regarding this.
