Lady Antebellum Singer Welcomes Baby Girl

Lady Antebellum Singer Welcomes Baby Girl

Lady Antebellum's lead singer Hillary Scott has welcomed a little lady of her own with husband Chris Tyrrell. On July 22, their daughter Eisele Kaye Tyrrell was born. Eisele (pronounced "eyes-lee") is the couple's first child.

According to the Dictionary of American Family Names, Eisele is a South German surname meaning "blacksmith" or "ironworker". ("Isen" is Middle High German for "iron".) The name Eisley is an Americanized version of this very surname. Star Wars fans might recognize the name Eisley from the Mos Eisley cantina in Episode IV: A New Hope, where Luke first meets Han Solo and Chewbacca! Hillary and Chris have already revealed, though, that they were inspired by the surname, not Star Wars--Eisele is Chris's mother's maiden name.

The couple is continuing the family tributes with their daughter's middle name, Kaye. Kaye is Hillary's mother's middle name. The popularity of both Kaye and its variant Kay peaked in the 1940s, when they hit No. 353 and 98 on the naming charts, respectively. These days, Kaye/Kay is often used as a nickname for more popular names like Kayla or Kaylee.

What do you think of the name Eisele Kaye? Have you heard of the first name Eisele or Eisley before?

It's a nice sound, Eisley, but doesn't look like it's pronounced. In German, Eisele would be "Eye-SEH-luh". Even an extra E on the end - Eiselee - would've given more of a hint towards pronunciation.

Not sure I love a name that no one would know how to pronounce. Either change the spelling (Isley as in Isley Brothers) or find a new name.

Definitely wouldn't have pronounced that right. I was thinking EES-uhl (closer to the artists tool, but with a hard S rather than a Z sound).

I like it. I almost love it. The spelling will be tough, it's too bad they didn't use one of the other spellings you mentioned.

The name Ainsley is beautiful and a little easier for people. Just in case any readers prowl for names here.

Log into your Facebook account from any desktop computer. From the home page, you’ll see a gray settings gear icon in the top-right corner. Click that and choose Account Settings from the drop-down menu that pops up. Next click the Security tab on the left side of the screen (it has a police badge icon), and you’ll see the Active Sessions label last on the list. Click this, and you’ll see all your recent account activity, as well as the devices it happened on and the rough location where it took place.
