Former Party of Five star Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband, actor Brian Hallisay, have a lot to be thankful for this year.  The couple not only recently married in a secret ceremony, but they also became parents to Autumn James Hallisay on Tuesday November 26th.

With their choice of Autumn for their daughter's first name the couple followed a trend noted by Baby Name Wizard Laura Wattenberg, picking one of the season names for the 21st century.  Not only is Autumn currently the most common season-related name, it's also at it's all-time peak in popularity, ranking 68th among all baby girl names in 2012.

With all of the seasonal naming choices available (Autumn, Spring, Summer, Winter, and of course, Season, just to name a few), we here at Name Candy love Jennifer and Brian's trendy choice in baby names.

What other season-related names are your favorites? Can you think of any seasonal names primarily used for boys?

I'm so surprised that Autumn is doing so well now. Seems like a 90s name to me. What's the story with James?

I agree that Autumn, however nice, seems off trend...a name that was trendy decades ago, kind of like Amber.
