Lady Antebellum's crew is one bigger! Guitarist Dave Haywood and his wife, record excutive Kelli Cashiola Haywood welcomed a son on September 7th in Nashville.  The couple's rep announced the birth and gave insight on the name to People Magazine. The couple went with an interesting twist on family names for their new son, and came up with a name that is both hip sounding and special to them.

Their son's full name is Cash Van Haywood.  His first name is a shortened version of Kelli's maiden name.  The name Cash also has country music roots, of course, and many parents have used the name to honor the late Johnny Cash, with the name exploding in popularity after his death in 2003.  The name has continued to make a steady climb since 2003, rising from 967 to 243 in 2013.

Their son's middle name, Van, is the first name of Haywood's father.  The name Van has hovered near the bottom of the top 1000 list since 2005, ranging in rank from 992 in 2005 to 840 in 2013.  The name, however, has been used for several decades, and enjoyed peak popularity in the 1880s when it ranked as the 286th most popular name.

What do you think of name of the latest Lady Antebellum addition?  Have you considered using the names Cash or Van?

I like the fact that they chose family names. Cash is cute enough but Cash Van is a little too close to "Cash Cab" which is a TV show. Cash would have been cuter paired with something a little more traditional like William or Robert or Brian, as well as something more "name" like. Both of his names are things you can draw. Picture of. :). It is a handsome name and I hope he enjoys it and can carry it well.

In perfecting a burial complex that rivals the size of Manhattan, Qin didn't stop at his 7,000-strong army. According to "Records of the Historian" by Han dynasty historian Sima Qian, laborers booby-trapped the room containing Qin's tomb with crossbows. Inside, the historian claimed that mountains chiseled from gold and constellations of pearls embellished the chamber. The text also mentions rivers of mercury, and tests have verified abnormally high mercury levels in the ground above the burial site [source: Hoh].
