Jena Malone Welcomes First Child With a Sweet & Earthy Name

Jena Malone baby name

Congrats are in order for Hunger Games star Jena Malone and her boyfriend Ethan DeLorenzo. The couple welcomed their first child over the weekend and shared a sweet post on Instagram this week to commemorate the occasion. And the baby's name? Well, it's definitely up there with some of the more interesting celeb baby monikers.

Welcome to the world, Ode Mountain DeLorenzo Malone!

Pretty cool that the child’s last name is his mother’s, no?

I know Jena's going to catch an Internet firestorm over the choice of Ode Mountain (and I myself have been known to roll my eyes at some of the more unusual names bestowed upon celeb babies), but I'll let Jena have this one. I like her too much. I've liked her since she was the little girl in Contact running to the medicine cabinet to try to save her dad. I liked her as the lonely daughter in Bastard Out of Carolina (has there ever been a child actress who could cry so damn heartbreakingly and convincingly? Jena always destroyed me). And I've liked her as she's grown up and taken on new and interesting roles. Basically, I'm just happy for the gal.

And judging by the photos she's posted over the past months from her pregnancy journey, Jena has been radiating happiness herself:

And if you’ll recall, she had a pretty lovely pregnancy announcement as well.

The 31-year-old actress is currently starring in Nicolas Winding Refn’s new buzzed-about flick The Neon Demon, which got some rather interesting and mixed reviews from the Cannes Film Festival.

We're looking forward to learning more about Jena and Ethan's little one, and of course always keeping an eye out for future projects in which Jena takes part. (In addition to being an actress, Jena is also a musician.)

Congratulations to the new parents! Enjoy every moment.
