Alexa PenaVega's Baby Name Choice Will Definitely Make a Splash

Alexa and Carlos PenaVega baby name

When it comes to choosing the "perfect" baby name for your child, expectant parents will look just about anywhere for inspiration. Some take the traditional route while others look to go against the grain. Let's just say that this Spy Kids alum has chosen door number two. Alexa PenaVega just revealed her baby's super unique name that will likely turn heads and possibly make a few waves in the #inspo department.

Taking to the 'Gram on her babymoon, the 27-year-old actress not only disclosed her very unusual baby name, but also that she's having a boy. (Aww, congrats!)

Posting a snap of baby PenaVega, Alexa revealed her son's baby name and the reason why she and her hubby, Carlos PenaVega, decided on this nautical name with a biblical twist.

Ocean King.

Can you dig it?

No matter how uncommon this baby name is (I highly doubt there will be other Ocean Kings at the playground), I think it's quite catchy and resonates with Alexa and Carlos on a deep spiritual level -- making it all the more perfect for this couple.

As Mom explains:

God called the dry ground 'land' and the water the 'seas.' And God saw that it was good. -- That is why we went with Ocean. And he is a son of the one true 'King.' For us it has a beautiful biblical meaning.

(If you didn't know, Alexa is referring to the Genesis 1:10 Bible verse.)

Aww, that's pretty sweet!

It's pretty obvious that Ocean King definitely holds a special place in Alexa and Carlos's hearts. And if this baby name makes them happy, I say more power to them.

Plus, biblical reference aside, these parents-to-be definitely seem to have an affinity for water. Alexa's Instagram is full of lovable shots during their retreats to maritime destinations.

Heck, the PenaVegas decided to get their cruise on for their babymoon, which tells you these two really love water -- possibly just as much (if not more) than Michael Phelps does.

I love unique names that make you do a double take, and I will forever be grateful to my parents for mine. (It's Tanvier, by the way.) At the end of the day, moms- and dads-to-be should feel good about the baby name they choose for their child, no matter how common or uncommon it might be.

Congrats on your baby boy, Alexa!
